Organic Edible Gardens – Make Your New Year’s Health Resolution Last!

Many of us have put our health at the top of our New Year’s resolution list.  We want to be active and eat healthier.  A great way to work toward both of these resolutions is by having Quiet Village Landscaping design, install, and maintain an edible garden to keep your healthier resolution going strong through this spring and beyond!

Our design team will meet with you one-on-one to discuss your needs and to assess your property.  We can create a drawn-to-scale design to help you visualize your proposal.  Every site is different and each client has a unique vision.  Perhaps you would like a few raised bed planters filled with vegetables fresh for the picking.  Or maybe an expansive herb garden is more your style.  From smaller sized porches and patios to expansive backyards, no space is too small to grow something edible, healthy, and delicious!  We can even revamp your current landscaping to include edible plants mixed in with the ornamentals.

Once your garden is installed, our landscaping teams are then available for bi-weekly maintenance services to keep the garden growing at full capacity and looking great.  Depending on your specific site, your unique needs, and your personal tastes, we can install a variety of vegetables, herbs, and fruits.  Best of all, our registered dietitian on staff can make healthy and nourishing recommendations, tailored to your health goals for 2017. We can recommend a satisfying mix of seasonally rotating vegetables, fruits and herbs to give you well balanced resources for organic edibles, all conveniently planted right in your backyard!

For first-time gardeners, spring greens such as kale, arugula, and lettuce are easy to grow and maintain.  Radishes, turnips, and carrots are also great options for growing in your home garden.  Herbs are both beautiful, flavorful and low maintenance, and are an easy choice to plant alongside ornamentals in already existing garden beds.  There’s nothing better than the fresh smell of rosemary or oregano as you brush past it on your way to the backdoor!

Having fresh produce and herbs at your fingertips is a great way to inspire you to eat healthier, cook more, and get outside to enjoy the garden.  Contact us at Quiet Village Landscaping to put yourself on the path to a healthier year!
